Games Are Coming to Flipper Zero
Messing around with a Flipper Zero is about to get even more fun. The just-released Flipper Video Game Module is a Raspberry Pi-powered add-on that turns the Flipper Zero from a hacking/testing tool into a miniature game system.
The Video Game Module adds motion sensing through a gyroscope and accelerometer, a controller port, a USB port, and a video-out jack, so you can use your TV as a Flipper Zero display. The module is compatible with many open-source Raspberry Pi Pico projects, so it can be used as a standalone device without connecting to Flipper Zero too. In keeping with Flipper’s “hack-everything” ethos, everything is open-source, so you can mess around with it in any way you want.
Flipper has prepared some demo apps for the new device, including a digital Oscilloscope, a tilt-controlled version of arcade classic Arkanoid to show off the motion sensing, and an app that lets you use the module as an air mouse. The really interesting apps, though, are sure to be the ones developed by Flipper’s creative community, so be on the lookout in the coming months.
What’s inside the Flipper Zero Video Game Module?
If you want to get intimate with the technical specifications of Flipper, here’s what’s under the hood.
-
Microcontroller: Raspberry Pi RP2040. Dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor, clock running up to 133 MHz.
-
SRAM: 264 kB on-chip.
-
Gyroscope & Accelerometer sensor: TDK ICM-42688-P is a 6-axis MEMS motion-tracking sensor (IMU).
-
USB Type-C port connected to the microcontroller. Acts as a USB device or host (with the limitation that USB power delivery is not supported).
-
Video Out port: DVI-D signal in 640х480 px, 60 Hz. According to Flipper, the video out port “supports a well-known video standard that we can’t name due to copyright limitations. The first letter is H, and the last one is I.” (I wonder if they mean HDMI?)
-
GPIO breakout: 11 GPIO pins connected to the RP2040 microcontroller, two ground pins, and one 3.3 V power pin.
-
Boot button: activates bootloader mode (for developers).
-
Reset button: reboots the module hardware.

Privacy Browser DuckDuckGo Can Finally Sync Your Passwords
DuckDuckGo, often heralded as one of the most secure, privacy-focused browsers/search engines on the market, has finally added the option to sync and back up your passwords, bookmarks, and favorites. This will allow users to transfer their saved data between devices without tediously setting everything up again or sacrificing the privacy-first approach that DuckDuckGo favors.
How does DuckDuckGo’s new Sync & Backup feature work?
The company says that, when activated in settings, the new feature should allow for users to sync their data across “most Windows, Mac, Android, and iPhone devices.” This includes the data that you’ve imported from other browsers like Chrome or Firefox. You can also sync email protection settings between devices. All data will be protected by end-to-end encryption. Best of all: The feature is available now.
How to set up Sync & Backup on DuckDuckGo
To set up the new Sync & Backup function, open your browser and select Settings > Sync & Backup > Sync With Another Device and then follow the instructions. DuckDuckGo says you must have its browser installed on at least two devices to use the new function. Syncing will also require you to scan a QR code, or manually enter a unique alphanumeric code, to complete the process.
If you’re only working with one device, you can also select Single-Device Setup to save your data in case you need to sync it to another device later on. And if you lose your device, you can also save a Recovery PDF to a secure device, allowing you to gather your data again even if you have to change devices, bringing the DuckDuckGo browser closer to the functionality offered by browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. But it comes with a warning: if you lose that Recovery Code and you do not have another device with access to your DuckDuckGo data, then you won’t be able to access it, as, again, DuckDuckGo keeps all your data encrypted with end-to-end encryption.
