My Favorite Pricey Air Styler Is on Sale for Prime Day (Plus Some Cheaper Alternatives)

Call me an enabler, but since I got my Dyson Airwrap three years ago, I’ve been hounding my friends to do the same. Understandably, they don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for a hair tool when they can just use mine if they ask nicely. Unfortunately, you can’t use mine, but you don’t have to pay $600 for your own, either: My favorite multi-styling device is on sale for Amazon’s Prime Day.

The Dyson Airwrap

It’s been around for years now and revolutionized the hairstyling game by finding a way to use blowing air to not only dry, but curl. I love my Airwrap and think it was worth every penny because it allowed me to get rid of multiple curling irons and hair dryers and it cuts the time it takes me to do my hair on wash day by at least half. Even if it didn’t make drying and styling my hair so much easier, I’d still love it because of how voluminous and smooth my hair is after using it.

For Prime Day, the tool is 19% off, and the deal applies to an authorized reseller that was previously listing the latest Airwrap, six attachments, a comb, a cleaning brush, and the carry case for $674.99—now $549.99.

Airwrap alternatives for Prime Day

Still, $549.99 might be too steep for you, especially if you’re anticipating the infamous learning curve that comes with switching from traditional hot tools to an airstyler. Luckily, there are some great Prime Day deals on other multistylers that mimic the Airwrap’s functionality at a fraction of the price, so whether you want to get used to using one of these before pulling the trigger on the big guy or you just don’t ever want to spend that much coin, there are options out there.

First, I love a good blowout brush and it was the only hot tool I kept when I made the switch to my Dyson; the round brush that comes with the Airwrap is pretty small; you might find that you need a bigger one. If that’s true for you, the Inglam hair dryer brush set—which includes a standard dryer attachment, a diffuser attachment, a brush attachment, and a round brush attachment—might be your best option. Typically $77.49, it’s $61.99 for the shopping holiday.

For the smaller curls you associate with the Airwrap, you can try the Yitrust dupe. While newer Airwrap models use a single, modifiable barrel to produce both left- and right-turning curls, the Yitrust dupe is more similar to older models in that it does require you to switch between two different attachments to get curls that go in opposite directions. Other than that, it’s pretty similar, but at a much lower price of $63.99 compared to its usual price of $79.99.
