Former Clemson star Dexter Lawrence almost takes a wild interception to the house

Dexter Lawrence gave New York Giants fans a thrill on Sunday when the veteran defensive tackle nearly found the end zone in a 21-18 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The former Clemson standout picked off Justin Herbert late in the first quarter, rumbling 37 yards before the Chargers’ quarterback dragged him down just shy of the goal line. At 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, Lawrence flashed surprising speed on the return, reaching 17.35 miles per hour according to Next Gen Stats.

Had he scored, it would’ve been the ultimate “big man touchdown”, and his teammates were already celebrating as if it might happen. Instead, New York’s offense finished the job, helping the Giants secure a tight win.

Now in his seventh season, Lawrence has become one of the league’s most consistent defensive linemen. He’s earned three straight Pro Bowl trips and was on track for another All-Pro nod last season before an elbow injury cut his year short. Even in 12 games, he posted career highs with nine sacks and eight tackles for loss.

Across his career, the 27-year-old has piled up more than 300 tackles and 30 sacks since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2019.

Meanwhile, another former Tiger was making headlines on Sunday. Trevor Lawrence helped guide Jacksonville to a 21-18 upset win over the Chargers, giving Clemson fans plenty to smile about with two of their NFL stars making big plays.

OKC Thunder jersey history No. 44 – Charlie Brown Jr. (2021)

The Oklahoma City Thunder (and the Seattle Supersonics before them) have 51 jersey numbers worn by the players who have suited up for the franchise since its founding at the start of the 1967-68 season. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Thunder Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team.

And while those Supersonics jerseys may not remain part of the franchise history should a new team be established in Seattle as was the case with the return of the Charlotte Hornets, they are part of the Thunder’s history today.

For this article, we continue with the 42nd jersey number in the series, jersey No. 44, with 15 players in total having donned the jersey in the history of the franchise.

The 14th of those players who did so in the Oklahoma City Thunder era, guard alum Charlie Brown Jr. After ending his college career at St. Joseph’s, Brown would go unselected in the 2019 NBA Draft, instead signing with the Atlanta Hawks.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native also played in the G League before signing with OKC in 2021. His stay with the team would span just nine games before he was cut.

During his time suiting up for the Thunder, Brown wore only jersey No. 44 and put up 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.

Who does Team Europe think will take it deep at victory party? Several names emerged

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Let the celebration for Team Europe begin after its

Another possible dark horse? Perhaps Jon Rahm, who earlier in the week told the media, “I don’t drink a lot, but luckily I have a bigger tank to put it in.”

McIlroy wasn’t done cracking jokes and for his next one-liner he supplied one of the more humorous moments of the press conference.  “Fitzy has to fill in his stat sheet from today,” McIlroy said and laughter ensued.

Before long the press conference concluded and the players made their way to the practice putting green outside where bottles of champagne were waiting to be consumed and to be sprayed at one another and their adoring fans. The night was young and the party was just starting.
