Suns’ Devin Booker out at least 1 week with right ankle sprain, will be re-evaluated
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be sidelined for at least one week, after which his ankle injury will be re-evaluated, The team announced Booker’s status on Sunday.
Booker suffered the injury during Friday night’s 110-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He turned his right ankle in the closing seconds of the third quarter while stepping on the foot of Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu. Booker didn’t see Okongwu while watching Grayson Allen lose the ball out of bounds. With his head turned to the right, he didn’t see Okongwu and ran into him.

Booker was running back down the court with his head turned toward Grayson Allen trying to save a loose ball from going out of bounds. As a result, Booker collided into Okongwu and hit the deck in pain.
“Seems to be in a pretty good place,” Suns coach Jordan Ott said, via the Arizona Republic, presumably referring to Booker not suffering a more serious injury.
“Anytime you get anyone down on the court like that, it’s not great and it was so unlucky,” he added. “He had been feeling so good at the end of that third quarter… We know he’s an incredible healer and a guy that’s going to do everything it takes to play the next one. That’s encouraging news.”
Prior to leaving the game, Booker had 31 points (shooting 5-of-9 on 3-pointers) with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. For the season, he’s averaging 25.4 points, 6.2 assists and 4 rebounds while shooting 31% on 3s. The Suns are sixth in the Western Conference with a 27-18 record under first-year coach Ott.

Phoenix also lost Jalen Green to a hamstring injury in Friday’s game. The fifth-year guard was playing in his second game after missing 33 straight with a strained right hamstring. Green has only appeared in four games with the Suns since being acquired in a trade for Kevin Durant. He scored four points in four minutes before leaving the game.
Green missed Sunday’s 111-102 loss to the Miami Heat after being listed as questionable on the NBA injury report leading up to game time.
Joe Brady to have second interview with the Raiders
Joe Brady could find himself working for Tom Brady.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bills offensive coordinator is set for a second interview with the Raiders. Per the report, Brady is in Las Vegas on Sunday night but it’s unclear when the interview will be taking place.
Brady has also interviewed for the top job in Buffalo as well as the Cardinals’ opening. He interviewed with the Ravens and Dolphins as well, but both of those teams have hired other head coaches.
Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero has had a second interview with the Raiders and they are expected to speak to Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb again. They also interviewed former Giants head coach Brian Daboll this weekend.
Houston Rockets jersey history No. 6 – Tom Henderson (1979-83)
The Houston Rockets have had players donning a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one not part of any numerical series for Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players in the course of Rockets history.
To honor all of the players who wore those numbers over the decades, Rockets Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the founding of the team all those years ago right up to the present day.
With seven of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Rockets of all time to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover.
And for today’s article, we will continue with the third of 15 players who wore the No. 6, guard alum Tom Henderson. After ending his college career at Hawaii, Henderson was picked up with the seventh overall selection of the 1974 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.
The Newberry, South Carolina native played parts of the first three seasons of his pro career with Atlanta, He also played for the (then) Washington Bullets (now, Wizards) before he signed with Houston in 1979 for the final four seasons of his career.
During his time suiting up for the Rockets, Henderson wore only jersey No. 6 and put up 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

How a Super Bowl win could cement Mike Vrabel’s legacy in NFL history
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has already achieved NFL history on Sunday, as he led the organization to an AFC Championship win over Denver and a Super Bowl bid in his first season at the helm of the franchise. The successful season comes on the heels of back-to-back four-win seasons in New England, making the Patriots the first franchise to reach the Super Bowl under a first-year head coach after four or fewer wins the previous season.
Vrabel can also lay claim to becoming just the eighth head coach in NFL history to lead a team to a Super Bowl in his first season, and the Patriots are the first team to advance to a Super Bowl with 13 or more losses in their previous season. But Super Bowl LX now offers another opportunity to make history for Vrabel.
If the Patriots win the big game, Vrabel will become the only person in NFL history to capture a Super Bowl Championship as a coach and a player with the same franchise, after winning three Super Bowls (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX) with the organization as a player between the 2001-2004 seasons.
Vrabel also has the opportunity to become just the sixth man in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as both a player and a coach, joining a list that includes Mike Ditka, Tom Flores, Gary Kubiak, Doug Pederson, and Tony Dungy. The Patriots will face the winner of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LX.
