OPINION by RJFK:
A Path to a Kinder World
In a time when things can feel a bit confusing and not so friendly, it’s really important to think about the Ten Commandments and how they could make the world better. These rules are not just for one religion – they’re like a guide for how to treat each other with kindness and love. No matter where we come from, these rules can help us be nicer and make things better for our children and the future.
The Ten Commandments are a set of rules on how to be good. They talk about things like being honest, being nice to others, and not hurting anyone. These ideas are important because they remind us to care about each other and show love.
Today, with phones and computers, we can talk to lots of people, but sometimes we forget to be nice. That’s why we need to remember these rules even more. When we tell kids about these rules, we’re not just giving them rules to follow – we’re showing them how to be good friends and make the world feel more like a family.
“There is no EZ-Pass to heaven” means that being really good takes effort and work. We can’t just take shortcuts to being good – we have to really try and care about each other. The Ten Commandments teach us this lesson. They show us that being good means choosing kindness even when it’s not easy.
Everyone knows this already. It doesn’t matter if you’re Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or something else – these rules talk about love and respect that everyone can understand. This shared understanding of the importance of love, respect, and moral integrity underscores their universal application.
When we learn and follow these rules, we’re not just making things better now – we’re helping to make a world for our children to have a better future.
