For the longest time, I was a Keurig guy and was happy with it. I’d load up a K-Cup into my single serve machine, and two minutes later, my morning was saved. There were two problems I had with my Keurig, though: One, I did hate the daily waste of the K-Cups, even with “recyclable” ones hitting the scene a few years back. And two, using the machine was a bit of a pain when trying to make more than one cup at once. It’d be nice to fill a travel mug, for example, but one cup wasn’t enough and two cups would risk overflowing. And if we had multiple guests over who wanted a cup of coffee, they’d have to wait their turn as my machine brew exactly one serving at a time. So I started to eye a more traditional coffee maker—something that would use one paper filter to make an entire pot of coffee—and if I had guests over or wanted to fill my travel mug, it’d be no problem.

While I’d probably be satisfied with a standard coffee maker, I was turned on to the Moccamaster Technivorm, and I never had a chance of looking elsewhere. This thing has it all: It’s stylish, it makes 40 ounces of coffee at once, and supposedly optimizes the speed at which the coffee brews to extract the coffee’s “full flavor” and maximize its “complexity, taste, and aroma.” I have no scientific or expert background when it comes to my coffee “extraction,” I just like a good cup, and this thing makes a pot of good coffee every time. (This YouTube review does a good job of explaining the machine in greater depth.)

As for actually brewing your coffee, I frequent Moccamaster’s advice quite often, which is posted online (although it should also come with your machine in paper form). It has the suggested ratio of water to ground coffee for any amount of coffee you’re looking to make (I tend to brew a liter at a time, which equates to six scoops of Moccamaster’s two tablespoon scoop, or 55 ounces), as well as advice on what to do if the strength is off: If your coffee is too strong, Moccamaster recommends you add hot water. But if it’s too weak, Moccamaster doesn’t recommend adding more grounds: Instead, it advises “exploring different coffee varieties or roast profiles to find one more suited to your taste.” To me, that sounds like a very polite version of “your coffee’s trash, dude.”

From a novice’s perspective, everything about this Moccamaster machine is amazing—except the price. The thing retails for $359, which is, the last time I checked, expensive. That’s why, when I saw the Technivorm was on sale, I had to write about it.

Unfortunately, the deal is already fluctuating. Originally, Amazon had this machine at half price for Black Friday. But since then, that sale has ended. But many colors are still on sale for 30% off. As of writing, that includes Apricot, Black, Orange, Butter Yellow, Candy Apple Red, Pink, Stone Grey, and Yellow Pepper. Rose Gold has a smaller sale, currently priced at $319.95. I’d recommend clicking through the various colors before you buy to see if the deal has shifted at all since this article.

Amazon Music Finally Has Its Own Version of Spotify Wrapped

If you use Amazon Music, you might feel out of loop this time of year, as Spotify and Apple Music users share their listening stats from Wrapped and Replay, respectively. This year, however, is a bit different: It seems Amazon has finally jumped onto the end-of-year recap bandwagon, rolling out its own version to users it calls “Delivered.” (Get it? Because Amazon?)

If you’ve ever used a platform with a yearly recap, Amazon Music Delivered seems pretty standard: The feature summarizes your listening activity for 2024, including stats like your top artists, songs, and podcasts of the year—if you used Amazon Music for your podcasting needs, of course. Amazon also says that you’ll see any “hidden gems” you discovered, as well as the “top request” you made on Amazon Music via Alexa. I’m sure your social media feeds will be abuzz with that stat.

Amazon does say that certain listeners may receive a message from one of their top artists. The company didn’t confirm which artists provided these messages, but Amazon does say you need an “Alexa-enabled” device in order to receive messages.

In any case, it’s a big improvement over how things used to work: Amazon Music used to offer an annual playlist, comprising your top tracks from the past year. But this new feature, like Spotify Wrapped, is a more engaging way to review your 2024 listening habits.

How to find your 2024 Amazon Music Delivered

To check out your 2024 Delivered, open the Amazon Music app on your iPhone or Android, then head to your Library. Here, tap the “2024 Delivered” banner, and you’re in.

While all the graphics are new, you can still access a year-end playlist. You’ll find these as a new “Top Songs 2024” playlist, rather than the old “My Year in Review” playlist. You can also ask Alexa to play the playlist by saying, “Alexa, play My Top Songs 2024.”

If you have an Alexa-enabled device attached to your Amazon Music account, you’ll see a blinking yellow light if you received a message from a top artist.

You Can Now Get the Classic PS1 Boot Screen on Your PS5

PlayStation’s 30th anniversary is here, and in addition to running over 500 sales, Sony is celebrating by giving PS5 owners a little bit of nostalgia.

As part of an update released yesterday, PlayStation 5 owners can now customize their home screen, menus, and system sounds to resemble the interfaces of past PlayStation consoles instead, all the way from the original to the PS4 (portable consoles notwithstanding).

It’s the system’s first real go at “themes,” which are a standard feature over on Xbox, but sadly, the changes will only work “for a limited time,” with no announcement yet on when the fun will be over.

Personally, my husband and I are running the PS3 theme on our PS5, since he’s got a soft spot for the old XMB menu. It doesn’t quite replicate that, but we do get the old “soft click” sound when moving between games and apps, and there’s a PS3-style abstract background that now sits just under our app bar. Putting the PS5 to rest also now sees our console thank us for 30 years of play (they don’t know I personally skipped the PS3), which you’ll also see regardless of how you customize your UI.

The PS1, PS2, and PS4 all have different menu effects (personally, I’m partial to the PS2 cube background), and there’s also a general “30th Anniversary” theme that highlights the classic PlayStation shapes. Regardless of which option you pick, they all share one especially neat trick— powering on a PS5 running the anniversary update, regardless of which console you’ve chosen to apply as your “theme,” will run the original PSOne boot screen, complete in all its compressed glory.

Again, there’s currently no word on when the anniversary update is set to expire, or if enterprising gamers will be able to keep their hands on these themes somehow. Regardless, here’s how to get the anniversary themes and the PS1 boot screen on your own PS5.

How to get the PS1 boot screen on your PS5

Boot up your PS5. You should be prompted to download the anniversary update, but if not, go to Settings > System > System Software and select System Features Update.

Download the update and restart your console. You’ll see the original PS1 boot screen and get a few pop-ups introducing you to the feature.

Click through the pop-ups to be taken to a page where you can select one of the available themes. Click Appearance and Sound and choose your desired theme.

To change your theme again after your initial boot, simply navigate to Settings > PlayStation 30th Anniversary > Appearance and Sound.

The PlayStation VR2 Is Over 40% Off Right Now After Cyber Monday

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

The PlayStation VR2 is one of a million products on sale post-Cyber Monday this year. If you’re interested in the best tech on sale today, see our page on the best Cyber Monday tech deals that are still active for a broader view of all the best discounts you can get right now. Prices are accurate as of the time of writing, but you can expect them to fluctuate and inventory to sell out, so you may not want to hesitate if you see a sale that grabs you.

I loved the original PlayStation VR. I picked one up during the peak of the pandemic (my first foray into VR gaming), and I was blown away. Instead of spending my nights inside my apartment’s small living room, I was walking through villages in Skyrim, exploring planets in No Man’s Sky, and platforming through creative terrains in Astro Bot Rescue Mission.

I was such a fan of the original that I argued it was a better VR headset buy in 2021 than an Oculus Quest—a stance many VR fans vehemently disagreed with. Three years later, however, the OG PS VR’s drawbacks are more pronounced than ever: The OLED display is lower resolution than modern headsets (960×1080), and the headset requires a complicated array of devices and cables (including a camera) to set up. (To that point, I haven’t set up the headset since my last move.) But more than that, the controllers are simply not VR controllers: While VR headsets have had finger-tracking controllers with joysticks for years, PS VR simply used the same Move controllers that have been available since the PS3.

The PS VR2, however, released in February of 2023, addresses these issues: The OLED HDR display is much higher resolution (2000×2040), quadrupling the megapixels per eye compared to the original; there’s some passthrough here, so you can actually see your immediate surroundings without having to take the headset off; the tracking is better, despite requiring no outside camera or peripherals; and the controllers are honest-to-goodness VR controllers, complete with finger tracking and joy sticks. And if you get tired of Sony’s VR games, you can connect the PS VR2 to your PC as if it were any other VR headset.

Sony’s second-gen PlayStation VR still wasn’t perfect: Besides having a smaller library than some other VR headsets, the PS VR2 was and is expensive, retailing for $549.99. When you consider that you also need a PS5 in order to run this thing (it’s not compatible with any PS4 console), it’s a pricey setup. That’s why I haven’t bought one yet, even if its plug-and-play approach would make getting back into VR easy.

But you’ve read the headline: It’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday season, and the PS VR2 is on sale. Sony announced a series of PlayStation Black Friday deals on Wednesday, running from Nov. 22 through Dec. 2. As part of that announcement, Sony revealed PS VR2 will be discounted as much as 40%. The math is a bit off, since you can actually snag a PS VR2 at 42% off: Right now, you can get the Horizon Call of The Mountain PS VR2 bundle for $349, down from $599.99. The standalone PS VR2 (no game included) was also $349, down from $549.99, but may have sold out at the time of writing. All things considered, you’re better off getting the Horizon bundle anyway, since the prices are identical.

It’s surprising enough to see this headset still on sale, as Sony said the promotion was going to end on Monday. If you’re still interested, pick up a PS VR2 before it’s too late.

This Tool Lets You Build Your Own Version of Google

Google keeps adding more and more clutter to its search product, from ads to AI. You can kind of work around this by disabling AI search results or even ditching Google for an alternative. But what if you could build your own replacement that used Google’s search engine, but without all the features you hate?

As noted by Mitja Rutnik at Android Authority, you can do exactly that using a little-known Google tool called Programmable Search Engine. Rutnik claims he routinely uses one custom search engine he built using this tool to search only for articles from his native Slovenia, and another to find articles only on websites owned by his employer.

To be clear, Google does not offer Programmable Search Engine with this use case in mind. Have you ever visited a website and noticed the search bar is “Enhanced by Google”? This tool is how those websites build those specific search bars. Even if you don’t have a website, however, there’s nothing stopping you from logging into the service, creating a search engine, and using it as your own personal Google.

How to use Programmable Search Engine to make your own Google

To get started head to the Programmable Search Engine landing page. You will need top add a new search engine.

The first step of creating a custom search engine.

Credit: Justin Pot

The initial setup doesn’t do much outside of allowing you to limit your searches to a specific set of websites. (Don’t worry: There are more ways to customize things later.) Click the blue Create button when you’re done.

Now head back to the “All search engines” page and click the engine you just created. This is where the real customization comes in. There’s the Region box, which you can use to limit the country your results come from. (U.S. websites tend to dominate the internet—maybe you’re not American and only want results for your country.)

After this you can add a list of sites to search, if you want to limit things to a few set searches. Alternatively you can add a list of sites to exclude, assuming there are a few news sources or blogs you don’t trust. This alone might make your search results better, assuming there are certain websites you’d rather never see again in your life.

Next head to the Look and Feel section. From here you can customize the font, color, and general look of your search page. There are a few pre-set themes to choose from, or your can dig in and customize everything yourself. You can even disable thumbnails in search results if you like.

Explore your different options and save your changes when you feel good about wht you’ve created. Finally, when you’re done, you can head to the Overview tab. There you’ll find a link to your new search engine—click it to try things out.

The results are likely to be as close to what Google offered in 2001 that you’re likely to find in the mid-2020s—that is, you’ll only see web results. The only possible exception will be a link to Google Image Search, assuming you enabled that feature. There are no sidebars, no AI overviews—nothing but search results from the web. This isn’t the preferred search experience for everyone, obviously, but I bet some people will dig it.

You can set your new search engine as your home page if you want, or even add it to your browser as a custom search engine if you want to get fancy about it.

These Cyber Monday Deals Are Still Going on Fitness Trackers and Smartwatches

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

If you’ve been waiting for a deal to pick up a fitness watch, most of the major brands are still offering discounts post-Cyber Monday, including Fitbit, Garmin, and Apple watches. The best deals I’ve found are listed below. (For more, you can check out this whole separate post of Garmin watches and this one about Fitbit deals.)

Fitbits are still on sale

All of the current Fitbit models are on sale right now. Fitbit’s best tracker, the Charge 6, is 38% off, going for $99.95 (normally $159.95). This one was my pick for the best minimalist fitness tracker. (You can read more here about its best features, or check out our hands-on review from when it first launched.)

There’s also an Inspire 3 on sale for $69.95 (down from $99.95). This is like a pared-down Charge 6—still tracking your heart rate and steps just fine but missing some of the “smarter” features. It also relies on your phone’s location services rather than having built-in GPS.

If you’re more in the mood for a full-featured smartwatch, there are also deep discounts on the Versa 4 ($119.99 down from $199.99, a whopping 40% off) and Sense 2 ($179.95, down from $249.95).

That said, if you’re not sure you want to stick with Fitbit for your next smartwatch, I have a rundown here of how the Pixel Watch 3 compares to Garmin’s Vivoactive 5—I crowned the Vivoactive 5 the winner, and it’s going for $199 right now. Just thought you should know.

These Apple Watches are still on sale

Apple makes three different watches. The Series 10 is the middle-of-the-road model at the moment, with the Ultra 2 the fancier model, and the SE (2nd gen) the more minimalist option. All three are on sale at the moment. We’ll start with the Series 10 because it’s the one our Associate Tech Editor, Michelle Ehrhardt, has declared to be the best Apple Watch for most people. These prices are $20 more than they were yesterday, but are still a lot less than regular price:

The Apple Watch SE is now $189 (originally $249) for the 40mm GPS-only version, or $219 (originally $279) for the 44mm version. Or go for the upgrade with an Apple Watch Ultra 2 for $769 (originally $799, so not nearly as good a deal as the $719 you just missed). That one is 49mm and comes with both GPS and cellular. And if you like snagging deals on older models, you can pick up a 41mm Series 9 (one generation older than the current models) for just $302.84.

These Garmin watches are still on sale

There are tons of deals on Garmin watches right now, enough that I assembled whole separate post with the best of them. A few worth noting:

Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, which is the newest version, is as low as $196.44 right now for the 40-millimeter size, down from a regular price of $299.99. The 44-millimeter version is $269.99, down from $329.99.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is also on sale. This was released earlier this year alongside the Galaxy Watch 7, but is a budget version of the watch with a little less storage space, a slightly smaller battery, and a smaller price to match. Today the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is $126.99, down from $199.99.

Suunto

Suunto’s outdoor watches aren’t as well-known as their competitors, but there’s one model with a deal still running that’s worth checking out. The multisport Suunto 9 Baro is $199.90 (down from $299).

Whoop

The Whoop band, a fitness tracker without a distracting screen, is now just $199 for a 12-month subscription with hardware included. I have more information on this deal here, including my picks for which accessories to grab along with it (since accessories like extra bands are also on sale).

Oura ring

Oura has recently released its gen 4 ring, which isn’t on sale (yet?). But the gen 3 is available at a discount this Cyber Monday, and it’s functionally nearly the same watch. The main difference is that the gen 3 has those sensor bumps on the inside (not a problem in my opinion—and I’ve been wearing mine for years). Oura has dropped the price a few bucks from its Black Friday deal, and you can grab a gen 3 ring right now for as low as $249 (black or silver, either Horizon or Heritage styles). That’s $50 under its usual price, and $100 less than the gen 4 equivalent.

This Ember Smart Mug Keeps Me Caffeinated, and It’s 27% Off This Cyber Monday

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

I love iced coffee, but I loathe cold coffee. Intentionally iced coffee is perfection, while hot coffee that’s gone cold is disgusting. You can, of course, microwave coffee to return it to a drinkable temperature, and I have—many times. But a sad mug of microwaved coffee is no replacement for sipping a freshly brewed cup as close to its original temperature as possible, and that’s always going to be a losing race against time.

Enter Ember, and its “smart mug.” Unlike your dumb mug, Ember’s cup can keep your drink at a stable temperature of your choosing, ranging between 120˚F and 145˚F. You set the temperature in the Ember app, pour yourself a cup of joe, and sip at your own leisure: Every time you take a drink, your coffee, tea, hot chocolate, what have you, will be the same temperature as the first sip.

I have been using an Ember mug for a while now, and it really is great—if not slightly surreal. It’s an odd thing to pick up a mug of coffee that’s been sitting around for half an hour, take a sip, and find it as steamy as when I first poured it. As odd as it sounds, this means it comes with a bit of a learning curve, at least if, like me, you are used to taking larger and larger sips of your coffee the longer it has been sitting around. Don’t throw back a cup from your Ember, is what I’m saying. It’ll be a bad time.

A piping hot cup for over an hour

Ember will eventually stop keeping your drink hot when the battery runs out. When new and fully charged, that’s a generous 80 minutes, which is a long time to enjoy any single 14 oz beverage. However, if you tend to drink multiple cups a day, that battery will wear out before you’ve finished your afternoon spreadsheets, so I recommend storing the wireless charging dock wherever you’re most likely to be drinking from the Ember mug—perhaps your desk, or on an end table. That way, you can place your mug on the charger instead of a coaster, and keep the battery constantly juiced.

The dock is also on sale for Cyber Monday, down to $27.99 from $39.95, but the mug comes with a dock, so you only need to buy one if something happens to the one you already own or you want more than one for some reason. (No judging.)

Don’t let your brew burn

The Ember mug isn’t perfect. My one gripe is with how it handles the last sip or two of your beverage. It seems the heating element is so strong, it burns, or at least alters the taste of, any too-small amount of liquid. My advice is to finish the cup before it gets to this point, keep your temperature set lower, or turn off the heater via the app when you get about three-quarters of the way through it.

A critical note: Do not put your Ember mug in the dishwasher. This mug is hand-wash only. It’s safe to scrub it in the sink, and even submerge it in water up to one meter. However, the abrasive nature of your dishwasher’s jets will be too much for both the outside coating and the electronics inside the mug. It’s a little extra work to hand wash it after each use, but you’ll have plenty of energy thanks to having downed that never-cooling cup of coffee.

I’m a Tech Writer, and These Are My Favorite Cyber Monday Sales on Laptops

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

Laptops are one of the most commonly discounted items on Cyber Monday, whether you prefer MacBooks, PC laptops, Chromebooks, or gaming machines. Sales are running across Amazon, Best Buy, retailer websites, and more, with price cuts as hefty as $400 off on laptops packed with top-of-the-line specs and modern hardware. Prices are accurate as of the time of writing, but you can expect them to fluctuate and inventory to sell out, so you may not want to hesitate if you see a sale that grabs you. And if you’re interested in a new tablet or phone as well, see our best Cyber Monday tech deals page for a broader view of all the best discounts you can get right now.

Best Cyber Monday MacBook Deals

Apple aficionados have plenty to choose from this Cyber Monday, with deals across the company’s entire lineup of in-house M-series chips.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M3 Chip: $1,099 at Amazon (was $1,299). This is Apple’s most recent MacBook Air, complete with the M3 chip, a base 16GB of RAM and a base 512GB of storage (unfortunately, the deal on the 256GB model is sold out at time of writing). That’s more than enough for most people.

  • Apple MacBook Air 15-inch with M3 Chip: $1,424 at Amazon (was $1,699). Largely similar to its 13-inch counterpart, this MacBook Air comes with a 15-inch screen and an M3 chip. At time of writing, only the 512GB model with 24GB of memory is in stock.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M2 Chip: $799 at Amazon (was $999). If you’re OK going with a slightly older model, the M2 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is $100 cheaper than the M3 model right now.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M1 Chip: $599 at Walmart (was $699). Apple’s oldest M-series MacBook Air is still a strong workhorse, with an M1 chip, 8GB of memory, and 256GB of storage, although the smaller discount here might not make the compromise worth it.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M3 Pro Chip: $1,699 at Best Buy (was $1,899). A slightly older model of MacBook Pro, this 14-inch laptop boasts an M3 Pro chip, 18GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD. It’s a good compromise between a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M4 Pro Chip: $1,749 at Amazon (was $1,999). Or just do away with compromises. If you want a pro-level MacBook with a pro-level chip, this is a great pick. You’ll get a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro chip, 24GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch with M4 Pro Chip: $2,249 at Amazon (was $2,499). This 16-inch screen upgrade to the M4 Pro MacBook Pro, with the same chip, up to 48GB of memory, and 512GB of storage.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch with M4 Max chip: $3,149 at Amazon (was $3,499). A screen-size upgrade to the M4 Max MacBook Pro, this deal will net you a 16-inch display, 36GB of memory, and a 1TB SSD.

Best Cyber Monday Windows Laptop Deals

For those who, like me, grew up with a Windows PC, there’s still plenty of deals on the tried-and-true standard this Cyber Monday, especially for those looking for something that can go toe-to-toe with a MacBook Air.

  • Lenovo Yoga 7 14-inch 2-in-1 with Ryzen 7 chip: $675 at Lenovo (was $1,025). This convertible Windows laptop can flip around to turn into a tablet, and it comes with a respectable AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS chip, a whopping 1TB of storage, 16GB of memory, a 14-inch touchscreen, and even a stylus.

  • Samsung Galaxy Book 4 with Intel Core 7 Chip: $530 at Best Buy (was $900). If you didn’t know, Samsung actually makes laptops! This Windows machine comes with a 15-inch display, an Intel Core 7 chip, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage.

  • Lenovo ThinkBook 16-inch with Ryzen 4 7430U Chip: $704.65 at Amazon (was $899). This laptop deal packs a lot of extra goodies for its price point, with a Ryzen 5 7430U CPU, 64GB of RAM, up to 4TB of storage, a Fingerprint Reader, and a copy of Windows 11 Pro.

  • Asus Zenbook 14 OLED with Intel Core Ultra 5 Chip: $500 at Best Buy (was $800). The Zenbook 14 OLED is one of my favorite competitors for the MacBook Air, and comes with an OLED touchscreen. This deal will snag you an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip with 8GB of memory and 512GB of storage, although a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 7, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD is also on sale.

  • Asus Vivobook S15 with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus Chip: $500 at Best Buy (was $900). This laptop is similar to the Zenbook 14 OLED, thanks to its 15-inch, 3K OLED display, but comes with a Copilot+ compatible chip, opening it up to Microsoft’s AI-centric features like Recall (currently in testing). This model comes with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage.

  • Dell XPS 13 with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H Chip: $1,399 at Dell (was $1,999). Dell’s XPS lineup used to be my favorite MacBook Pro competitors for Windows, although the company’s recent choice to opt for a touchbar has somewhat cooled my enthusiasm. Still, at this price, the Intel Core Ultra 7 chip, 32GB of memory, 1TB SSD, and 3K OLED display is great value.

  • Dell Inspiron 16 with Ryzen 5 8540U Chip: $550 at Dell (was $700). This basic laptop is a more modest Dell productivity machine, with an AMD Ryzen 5 8540U processor, 16GB of memory, 512GB of storage, and a 16-inch FHD+ display.

  • Dell XPS 16 with Intel Core Ultra 9 Chip: $2,545 at Dell (was $3,145). For a splurge, this XPS laptop from Dell comes with a big screen and can even game on the side. You’ll get an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, 32GB of memory, a 1TB SSD, and a 16-inch 4K+ touch display.

Best Cyber Monday Gaming Laptop Deals

More powerful Windows machines tend to be labeled “gaming laptops,” and this Cyber Monday’s deals in the category don’t disappoint either, with options for gamers of almost all budgets.

  • Dell Alienware m16 R2 Gaming Laptop with Intel Core Ultra 9 chip: $1,300 at Dell (was $1,700). This 16-inch gaming laptop from Dell packs a lot for the price, with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, up to 64GB of memory, up to 2TB of storage, and a 16-inch QHD+@240Hz display.

Best Cyber Monday Laptop Deals Under $300

Chromebooks can be great for working in the cloud, but not every budget laptop needs to be a Chromebook. Here are some cheaper laptops that still come with Windows installed.

  • Acer Aspire Go 14: $280 at Acer (was $350). This laptop is a good cheap pick, and should be good for people whose work depends mostly on the cloud. It comes with an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U CPU, 128GB of storage, 8GB of memory, a 14-inch screen, and Windows 11 in S Mode. Note that S Mode laptops can only use apps from the Microsoft Store by default, although this can be changed later.

  • Lenovo Ideapad 1: $300 at Best Buy (was $580). This is a great way to get a touchscreen at a low price, and it’ll net you a 15-inch display, a Ryzen 5 7520U chip, 8GB of memory, and 256GB of storage.

The M2 MacBook Air is one of a million products on sale for Cyber Monday this year. If you’re interested in the best tech on sale today, see our best Cyber Monday tech deals page for a broader view of all the best discounts you can get right now. Prices are accurate as of the time of writing, but you can expect them to fluctuate and inventory to sell out, so you may not want to hesitate if you see a sale that grabs you.

Apple makes some of the best laptops for the general public, and the MacBook Air series has consistently been one of its most popular. The 16 GB RAM version of the M2 MacBook Air is on sale or $749 for Cyber Monday (originally $999) on Amazon, the lowest price it has been according to price-tracking tools. It’s available in space gray, midnight, silver, and starlight colors.

This 16GB RAM version had dropped to $799 earlier this month and was an incredible value back then. Now with its current Cyber Monday deal, it drops another $50. While you can buy slightly cheaper MacBooks with 8GB of RAM instead, the extra memory in this model is a better deal, and will make your laptop last much longer. Just earlier this year in April, the cost to double your RAM to 16GB was $200. As Tech Editor Jake Peterson explains, this could be the last laptop you ever buy.

The M2 MacBook Air came out in 2022, and judging from how Apple still backs up the M1, you can expect many years of support for the M2. The M2 comes with a 13.6-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1664, and a battery life of about 17 hours, according to CNET’s review.

If you already have an M1 Mac, here are the difference between the M1 and M2 to help you decide if the upgrade is worth it. If you’re comparing the M2 and the M3, you can see our full breakdown comparing the two.
