The Apple Pencil Pro and 9th Gen iPad are up to 39% off

I covered the Apple Pencil Pro last month when it dropped to a record-low price on Amazon before quickly selling out. You still can’t find one on Amazon, but Target is selling them for $99 (originally $129). You can use the Pencil Pro with the 64GB wifi-only ninth-generation iPad, currently going for $199 (originally $329), matching the lowest price it first hit in August. This iPad was considered the best iPad for most people by PCMag and received its Editors’ Choice award in an “excellent” review. While it’s three years old, it’s not yet on the list of Apple products no longer getting software updates, so you’ll likely still get a few more years of support.

The Garmin Instinct 2 is $100 off

The Garmin Instinct 2 is an outdoor smartwatch with a design and features geared towards people with active lifestyles. It has a strong battery life of up to 65 days in the battery saver mode and 28 days in the regular mode (using features like GPS and SpO2 monitoring will drain the battery faster). You can get the Instinct 2 for $199.99 (originally $299.99).

Beats and Bose headphones up to 47% off

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds clip on your ear and shoot sound into your ear, leaving your ears open to outside noise. You can get them for $249 (originally $299). If you’re looking for the opposite approach, Beats Studio Buds are noise-canceling earbuds that go in your ear and are $79.99 (originally $149.99).

This Samsung soundbar with a built-in woofer is 40% off

The Samsung HW-S50B is a budget-friendly “all-in-one” (to the extent it can be) soundbar with a built-in woofer. These kinds of soundbars are great for setups where a woofer won’t fit or for people who just don’t want the clutter. It has Bluetooth Multi Connection, so you can connect two smart devices at the same time and switch between them, and if you have a Samsung phone, you can use the tap feature to play your media directly to it. Get it for $149.99 (originally $249.99).

The 55-inch TCL S551G Google TV is $110 off

The TCL S551G is an LED Smart Google TV with 4K resolution, UHD, and HDR currently going for $239.99 (originally $349.99). This is TCL’s new entry-level 4K TV of 2024.

Everyone Should Have a Big Battery Like the Jackery 1000 (and It’s 50% Off for Black Friday)

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

I’m a fatalist, averse to the concept of offending destiny by planning for anything, but I still love my Jackery 1000 portable power station. It’s partly because I’m vaguely concerned about the power grid going down if there’s a disaster, but it’s mostly because I like to be comfortable when I’m camping.

Put simply, The Jackery 1000 is a honkin’ huge battery that’s half of on Amazon for Black Friday. It boasts an output of 1,500W—enough to keep your refrigerator or air conditioner running while you wait for the civil authorities—and it weighs less than 24 pounds. You can even charge it with the freakin’ sun (if you have a ton of spare time).

While the advantages of having working lights and appliances during a blackout are obvious, it’s not like it’s gonna sit there gathering dust until the big one hits. You can bring it to a beach party to keep everyone’s phones topped off, or you can pair it with an electric throw like this Sunbeam Royal Ultra Fleece and take it camping.

Camping is where I fell in deep, deep love with big battery. I like camping, especially in the autumn, but I hate being cold. I’ve tried all kinds of sleeping bag and blanket configurations over the years, and I always either wake up shivering in the middle of the night, or have nightmares because I’m cocooned in a little bag like a frozen burrito waiting to be microwaved. But a couple weeks ago, I brought this battery and an electric blanket to the campground, and it changed camping entirely. Totally warm, all night, even though the outside temperature was California-freezing at like 40 degrees. It has enough power to keep a reasonable blanket on all night and charge your cell at the same time, and it doesn’t even take up much space in the tent. In short: you need one.

This Vitamix Blender Is $80 Off Right Now

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

I know you’ve been thinking about getting a new blender. You want a serious blender, one that’s professional grade—a blender for a grown up, who has their damn life together. Now is the time for you to purchase a Vitamix E310 Explorian. This one’s $80 off for Black Friday.

This is a $379.95 blender that is on sale on Amazon for $299 on Black Friday. The E310 has a 48oz. container, ten variable speeds, a pulse feature, and a radial cooling fan. You can use it to make soup without a stove; the heat from the friction of its laser-cut, aircraft-grade stainless steel blades is all you need for a steaming bowl of minestrone in minutes.

Everyone online agrees that this blender is amazing. It’s rated 4.6 stars out of 5 from 5,225 reviewers on Amazon. There are over 5,000 people who are grinding nuts into nut butter and enjoying restaurant quality smoothies at home right now, while you’re doing what? Crying? Those people are no better than you. What do they have that you don’t? Other than an awesome blender, nothing!

These Black Friday PS5 Bundles Are Perfect For Fortnite and NBA Fans

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

Sony might have just released the PlayStation 5 Pro, but at $700, it has yet to see any Black Friday deals, and that’s not likely to change anytime soon. It’s a good thing, then, that the far more affordable PS5 Slim models originally released last year are stepping up to pick up the slack.

Both the Digital Edition and Disc Edition of the console are on sale across multiple retailers, although you’ll want to be careful where you buy. While it’s pretty self explanatory that only the Disc Edition comes with a disc drive, you could also miss out on a few potential goodies if you’re not careful, regardless of which model you pick.

That’s because, while Amazon and Best Buy are both selling the consoles on their own, there are also bundles available that throw in some extra goodies at no additional cost.

Fortnite players will want to opt for the Fortnite Cobalt Star Bundle, which is available for both PS5 Slim models and throws in 1,000 V-Bucks and some extra cosmetics (I’m sure someone younger than me will know whether they’re any good, but hey, they’re worth it for the stunning price of free). Sports fans, meanwhile, can get a PS5 Slim Digital Edition with a copy of NBA 2K25 direct from PlayStation for the same price. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an NBA bundle for the model with a disc drive, and add-on disc drives are currently not on sale.

All PS5 Slim bundles listed here come with the console in white along with a single DualSense controller, and if you’re so inclined, you can also save big on the PSVR 2 right now, which will open up your new console to a whole new type of game. In general, these deals knock about $75 off the price of getting a PS5, which puts it in spitting distance of the much less powerful Nintendo Switch OLED‘s typical (non-sale) price.

Your iPhone Can Now Automatically Remove Location Data From Photos You Share Online

When you share photos or videos from your iPhone, you’re often also sharing the exact location where the photo was taken. Your iPhone logs the location of each picture by default, which is useful because it allows you to search for photos by location. This feature has helped me quickly find the exact picture I’m looking for, but at the same time, I have no desire to accidentally expose a picture’s location when I share it.

With iOS 18.2, you’re be able to stop your iPhone from sharing image and video locations by default (although you’ll have to do it by app). The new feature also lets you remove captions and choose a default format for photos shared to third-party apps. Here’s how to get started.

How to automatically remove location data from iPhone photos

This feature is available with iOS 18.2, which is in public beta at the time of writing. A stable release is set for December, but to try it now, first sign up for Apple’s beta program, then unlock your phone and go to Settings > Software Update > Beta Updates. Choose iOS 18 Public Beta, then hit the back button and select Update Now on iOS 18.2 Beta. Alternatively, you could sign up for a developer account to access the developer beta instead, but there’s no need to do so here. Note that installing a beta to your phone can introduce instability to your device.

With the iOS 18.2 beta installed, do the following:

  1. Open your iPhone’s Settings app.

  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security > Photos.

  3. Select any app that has access to your photos, preferably a messenger or a social media app where you’re most likely to want to hide location information.

  4. Under Private Access, tap Options

  5. Under Include, disable Location and Captions. This will remove location data and captions added through Apple’s Photos app when sharing images or videos with the external app.

  6. While you’re here, you can also select a Format that media sent to the app will use. The Most Compatible option will share photos in jpg and videos in H.264, while the Current option will upload in the same format that the media was saved in. Automatic lets iOS choose the best format depending on the app.

  7. Finally, repeat this process with other apps you regularly share photos with to ensure that your location data is safe.

At the time of writing, many apps haven’t been updated to fully support this feature, but you can expect that to change in the future. In the meantime, for a more nuclear option, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Camera and choose Never to stop photos from having your location data in the first place.

This Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Is at Its Lowest Price Ever for Black Friday

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (12th Gen, 2024) is now $129.99 for Black Friday, down from $159.99—its lowest price yet, according to price-tracking tools. It’s a nice upgrade from the basic Kindle, featuring a larger 7-inch screen, three color options, an adjustable warm-and-cool front light, and a waterproof build (IPX8 rated). It comes with 16GB of storage, which is more than enough for eBooks but might feel a bit tight if you’re big on audiobooks (for which you’ll need Bluetooth headphones since this model has no headphone jack). Additionally, if audiobooks are your thing, the Signature Edition with 32GB storage might be a better option for you.

The Paperwhite comes with dual-band wifi (though cellular connectivity is still missing) for downloading eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines from the Kindle store. You can also upload your own documents and sideload third-party apps like Libby to borrow library books, a feature gradually rolling out to all Kindles through the latest firmware updates. The 300 ppi display of the Paperwhite ensures sharp text, while 16 levels of grayscale make it a great option for classic E-Ink reading. That said, this PCMag review notes that the screen has a slightly yellower tone than the previous generation (not a major issue, but worth mentioning). Another thing to note is the lock screen ads that come by default—removing them will cost you an extra $20.

The battery life of the Paperwhite is estimated at up to 12 weeks on a single charge, though how long it actually lasts will depend on your reading habits and brightness settings. At this price, the Paperwhite is an excellent value, especially for readers who want a waterproof device they can take anywhere. However, if you want more storage or features like wireless charging, the Signature Edition ($154.99, down from $199.99) might be worth the upgrade.

The Marshall Emberton II Speakers Are $70 Off for Black Friday

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

The Marshall Emberton II, available in black and brass, black and steel, and cream, is a great choice for anyone who loves the iconic Marshall rock aesthetic—and it’s now $99.99 (down from $169.99) for Black Friday. For a speaker this size, the Emberton II offers impressive sound performance, driven by dual 10W amps and passive radiators. Its unique setup has the left channel firing through the front grille and the right through the back, which isn’t true stereo but still creates a room-filling sound. It’s great for mid-sized spaces and even some larger rooms, though it might fall short for outdoor gatherings or backyard parties.

For those who want a stereo setup, the Stack mode (accessible through the Marshall app) lets you pair multiple Emberton II speakers together for added flexibility.

The sound quality of the Emberton II is solid, though not without its limitations. It handles moderate bass well, but deep lows can reportedly be a bit of a struggle. Highs are bright and crisp, giving it a clean, sculpted sound that works well for most genres at moderate volumes. However, its Bluetooth 5.1 support is limited to the SBC codec—good for casual listening but not ideal for audiophiles who listen to high-res audio, according to this PCMag review. On the bright side, with an IP67 rating, this speaker is built to handle poolside splashes, heavy rain, and even full submersion in water for up to 30 minutes. The added dust protection is also a plus, especially for its textured exterior that might otherwise collect grime. Battery life is rated at 30 hours (impressive for its class), though actual performance will depend on your listening habits and volume levels.

If you’re after a speaker with a similar sound and durability but at a lower price, the JBL Flip 6 is worth considering at $79.95 (down from $129.95). It offers a comparable audio experience and rugged build, making it a strong alternative for budget-conscious buyers.

This MagSafe-Compatible Power Bank Is 40% Off for Black Friday

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

The Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) is now available for $53.99, down from $89.99, and comes in black, blue, green, purple, and white. It packs a 10,000mAh battery capacity, offering 27W wired charging through a USB-C port and 15W wireless charging for iPhones (12 series and up). And with Wireless PowerIQ (Anker’s proprietary fast-charging tech) and the Qi2 standard, it claims to charge the latest iPhones more efficiently. The magnetic hold of this power bank is said to be strong enough to keep your phone securely in place, whether you’re charging it vertically or horizontally. That said, the wireless charging area lacks padding, which could be a concern if you’re particular about avoiding scratches.

This power bank comes equipped with a foldable/flip-out stand, so you can prop up your phone while it charges, and if you turn it sideways, it doubles as a hands-free setup for streaming or browsing in landscape mode. However, it’s a bit on the bulkier side, so it’s better suited for tossing into a bag than pocketing it with your phone attached. If portability is your top priority, the Anker 321 MagGo (5K), now $19.99 (down from $25.99), might be a more practical option.
