Maryland rides big first half to 70-60 win over Oregon to open Big Ten Tournament

CHICAGO (AP) — David Coit scored 17 points, Elijah Saunders added 15, and Maryland defeated Oregon 70-60 in a first-round game of the Big Ten Tournament on Tuesday.

Maryland held Oregon to 3-for-22 shooting (14%) with 0 for 10 from 3-point distance in the first half and the Terrapins led 33-12 at the break. Maryland scored the first nine points and the Ducks made their first field goal at the 8:46 mark, making the score 17-8. Maryland later ran off 10 consecutive points for a 31-10 lead. Coit scored 12 points in the first half.

An 11-2 run helped the Ducks cut their deficit to 12 points early in the second half, but Maryland allowed only three points over the next 5 1/2 minutes and the lead was 58-34 near the 8-minute mark. A dunk and a three-point play from Nate Bittle started a 15-2 run for Oregon and it was 60-49 with 4 1/2 minutes remaining.

The Ducks got within single digits a few times, the last at 67-58 with 53 seconds remaining but Maryland’s Darius Adams made 3 of 4 free throws to preserve a double-digit margin.

Bittle scored 16 points, Kwame Evans Jr. 14 and Takai Simpkins 10 for 16th-seeded Oregon (12-20).

Maryland, seeded 17th, got 12 points, six rebounds and five assists from Andre Mills. Solomon Washington also scored 12 points and Adams finished with 10 points for the Terrapins (12-20).

Maryland defeated Oregon for the first time. The Ducks had won the only two prior matchups — both since joining the Big Ten last season. Most recently, Oregon won 64-54 at Maryland in January.

Lakers’ Luka Dončić reveals he’s separated from fiancée, in a custody battle for daughters

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić has separated from his fiancée and is now in a custody battle over their two daughters, he revealed to ESPN on Tuesday

TMZ reported on Tuesday that Dončić’s ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltez, filed a petition seeking child support and attorney fees from Dončić after their separation. That petition, according to ESPN, was filed in California — though Dončić said he had “no idea” that it was even filed.

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Dončić said in a statement. “Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

Dončić and Goltez had been dating since 2016. He first proposed to her in July 2023, and they welcomed their first daughter, Gabriela, later that year. The couple’s second child, Olivia, was then born in December in Slovenia.

Dončić took time away from the Lakers this season to be in Slovenia for the birth of his second daughter. While he was there in December, according to ESPN, Dončić wanted to bring Gabriela back to the United States with him as he was rejoining the Lakers. A disagreement then broke out between Dončić and Goltez, and police were called to the hospital. Officers “did not detect any elements of a criminal offense or misdemeanor” by Dončić during that incident. He left peacefully and flew back to the United States later that day.

Dončić has not seen Goltez or either of his daughters since. He’s seen his daughters for only two days since arriving in Los Angeles for Lakers training camp in late September. Goltez has since wiped Dončić from her Instagram, too.

Dončić did file an interim injunction seeking immediate contact with Gabriela and Olivia in Slovenian courts, according to ESPN. Further specifics of that are not yet known.

“I don’t even know how to describe it. It was a lot,” Dončić said of the trip to Slovenia in December, via ESPN. “I was there for the birth of my daughter, so that means everything to me. But it was definitely a roller coaster.”

Dončić, now in his first full season with the Lakers, has averaged a league-high 32.5 points, 8.4 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game. The Lakers hold a 39-25 record entering Tuesday night’s matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Cavs at Magic: How to watch, odds, and injury report

The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to pick up their third-straight win over the Orlando Magic as they head on the road to take on a team that could be playing their best basketball of the season.

This has been a frustrating season for Orlando. An injury to Franz Wagner and a still disjointed offense have kept the Magic from reaching the heights many envisioned for them when they traded for Desmond Bane last summer. Bane has been as advertised, but his shooting hasn’t transformed the offense, as they’re still in the bottom third of the league in offensive rating.

The Magic are, however, playing well right now. They’ve won four in a row and seven of their last 10. They could be peaking at the right time.

We’ll see how the Cavs handle this team in what could be a preview of a first-round playoff matchup.

You Can Get ClearVPN, an Easy, Beginner-Friendly VPN Setup, on Sale for Just $20 Right Now

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

VPNs tend to fall into two camps: Some are packed with settings and server lists that assume you know what you’re doing, while others aim to disappear and run silently in the background. The ClearVPN Premium Plan sits firmly in the latter category, and right now, a one-year subscription is on sale for $19.99 on StackSocial, down from $119.88. The price alone makes it worth a look, but it’s especially worth trying if a simplified VPN fits your internet use. ClearVPN isn’t a power user’s playground. It’s built for people who want protection without fiddling with settings every time they connect.

Using ClearVPN feels closer to flipping a switch than configuring a tool. You simply open the app and tap once, and the connection is live. Under the hood, it uses AES-256 encryption, the same standard used by banks and security-focused services, along with OpenVPN and IKEv2 protocols to keep connections stable. In real terms, that means your traffic is scrambled and harder to intercept when you’re on public wifi at airports, cafés, or hotels. The service offers access to more than 55 servers worldwide, which is enough for general browsing and basic location switching, though it’s not as extensive as larger VPN networks. You can run it on up to six devices at the same time, covering a phone, a laptop, and a few shared devices at home. It works across Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android, and updates are included during the subscription.

ClearVPN follows a strict no-logs policy, meaning it doesn’t collect or store your browsing activity, IP address, or personal data. At the same time, this isn’t a VPN aimed at advanced users who want deep server control, niche locations, or constant manual tweaking. The smaller server count may matter if you rely on very specific regions or heavy streaming access. You also need to redeem the deal within 30 days of purchase, and access lasts exactly one year.

For everyday browsing, basic privacy, and simple protection that runs quietly in the background, ClearVPN does its job well. If you want endless customization or the largest network possible, it may feel limited, but for people who value ease, clarity, and a low yearly cost, this deal makes online security feel far less complicated: ClearVPN Premium is on sale for $19.99 for a full year on StackSocial, down from $119.88.

Lakers’ Luka Doncic says he’s separated from fiancée, in custody dispute over their 2 daughters

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lakers superstar Luka Doncic says he has separated from the mother of his two young daughters and is in a custody dispute.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Anamaria Goltes filed a petition for child support and attorneys’ fees in California. Doncic then said in a statement he had recently ended his engagement to Goltes because he was unable to have his daughters with him in the U.S. during the season.

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Doncic said in the statement released to ESPN. “Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

The 27-year-old Doncic and Goltes had been dating for a decade after meeting as teenagers in Slovenia. They became engaged in July 2023, and their daughters were born in November 2023 and December 2025, with Doncic leaving the Lakers to travel to Slovenia when younger daughter Olivia was born.

Doncic moved from Dallas to Los Angeles in a trade for Anthony Davis in February 2025. He agreed to a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Lakers last summer, cementing his near future in Los Angeles.

Doncic is the NBA’s leading scorer this season at 32.5 points per game, and he ranks third with 8.4 assists while grabbing 7.8 rebounds.

Just how much will the Reds rotate their lineup in 2026?

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JULY 18: Matt McLain #9, TJ Friedl #29 and Elly De La Cruz #44 of the Cincinnati Reds celebrate a scored run during the game against the New York Mets at Citi Field on July 18, 2025 in the Queens borough of New York City. (Photo by Ishika Samant/Getty Images) | Getty Images

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Reds fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

The 2025 edition of the Cincinnati Reds was anchored by both TJ Friedl and Elly De La Cruz, two everyday stalwarts that posted total plate appearances of 685 and 699, respectively. Those marks ranked 21st and tied for 12th among all MLB players, a testament both to their health and good enough production that they played just about everyday against pitchers on both sides of the mound.

Those were the only two Reds to top the 600 PA threshold, though, a mark that 68 total players across the league managed to top. That was due to a number of factors – platooning the likes of lefties Gavin Lux, Will Benson, and Jake Fraley, injuries to Fraley, Austin Hays, and Noelvi Marte, and input trades of Ke’Bryan Hayes and Miguel Andujar eating into others’ playing time.

A 600 PA season is indicative of good health and everyday playing time as much as it is an offense that keeps turning the lineup over, and the hope in 2026 is that the Reds offense is much, much better than it was during a largely ineffective 2025.

That begs the question…how many 600+ PA seasons will the Reds get out of their roster in 2026?

Will they be able to keep Sal Stewart in the lineup often enough for him to get there?

Might Spencer Steer find ways to get there by being versatile to cover both outfield corners and spots all over the infield?

Could they make sure Eugenio Suárez gets there since his bat is the singular reason they brought him onto the roster?

If Matt McLain hits like he did back in 2023 and sticks in the #2 spot in the order all year, will that push his season total over the threshold?

Let us know what you think, since it’s something of a tell of how good you think this offense will be – or a tell on how much you think they’ll rotate the lineup enough to keep guys from getting that many opportunities!

76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey out at least three weeks with tendon injury in right pinkie

This is bad news for a 76ers team fighting to remain in the top eight in the East, and with hot teams in Atlanta (one game back) and Charlotte (2.5 back) right on its tail.

All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey has suffered a “tendon injury to the small finger on his right hand” and will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks, the 76ers announced Tuesday.

Maxey had only missed two games all season before this injury and had played more minutes (2,334) than any other player in the league. The injury occurred with 16.2 seconds left in the 76ers’ loss to the Hawks, when Maxey collided with teammate Adem Bona and instantly grabbed his right hand in pain.

Maxey is averaging 29 points and 6.7 assists per game, shooting 37.3% from 3-point range, and was voted an All-Star starter by the fans. He has been the one consistent player for Philadelphia this season.

The 76ers are already without Joel Embiid (oblique strain, to be re-evaluated this week) and Paul George (suspension until March 25). Philadelphia has a -19.6 net rating this season when none of those three is on the court, and that is still -4.6 when just Maxey is off the court.

Philadelphia, which has looked like a playoff threat when everyone is healthy, could fall into the back half of the play-in and have to win two games to even make the playoffs.

You Can Get Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2026 on Sale for Just $50 Right Now

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

Microsoft’s flagship development tool, Visual Studio Professional 2026, reduces much of the friction that used to come with large projects, and it’s on sale for $49.99 on StackSocial right now, which is far less than what most developers expect to pay for a professional-grade IDE.

Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2026 is a desktop-only Windows product built as a 64-bit application, clearly aimed at people working on real-world codebases. Think multi-project solutions, long build times, and code that’s touched by more than one person. In day-to-day use, the biggest benefit is the context the software provides while you work. Visual Studio 2026 supports C#, C++, .NET, ASP.NET, Blazor, and .NET MAUI, so you can move between desktop, web, and cross-platform projects without switching tools. You also get Hot Reload, which helps reduce rebuild time by letting you edit code in .NET and C++ apps and see changes immediately. And CodeLens adds useful context right inside the editor—who last edited a method, which tests cover it, and whether recent changes broke anything—without forcing you to dig through menus or version history. The software’s AI-powered IntelliCode suggestions also feel more restrained than flashy. They tend to fill in logical patterns based on your existing code. It saves time on repetitive work, but you’ll still want to read what it writes.

Collaboration is another area where this version earns its keep. Live Share allows teammates to jump into a debugging or editing session without cloning the repo or matching environments. That’s useful for code reviews or troubleshooting, but it depends heavily on a stable internet connection. System requirements are also worth noting: While it can technically run on 4GB of RAM, 8GB or more is far more realistic, especially for larger solutions, and storage needs can balloon depending on workloads, reaching well over 100GB in some setups. Also, it doesn’t support 32-bit systems and won’t run on mobile devices or Chromebooks. For developers already working in the Windows ecosystem, this is a solid long-term license. For everyone else, those limitations can be deal breakers.

Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2026 is a full-featured, 64-bit IDE for Windows designed for developers working on complex, multi-project codebases, and it’s on sale right now for a one-time price of $49.99 on StackSocial.

H&R Block Deluxe + State 2025 Is 50% Off Before the Tax Deadline

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

Handing your taxes off to an accountant isn’t always necessary, but doing everything blind isn’t ideal either. H&R Block Deluxe + State 2025 fills the space in between: It’s built for people whose returns go beyond a single W-2, without turning the process into a spreadsheet nightmare. Right now, it’s on sale for 50% off at $29.97 on StackSocial, down from $59.99, which puts it firmly in “worth considering” territory if you want structure for filing your taxes without outsourcing the whole job. This version is limited to U.S. filers and a single state, and the license needs to be redeemed within 30 days of purchase to use it for the 2025 tax year.

The experience is less about filling out tax forms and more about responding to clear, step-by-step prompts. The software runs locally on both Windows and Mac, so you’re not locked into a browser session, and you can pause and pick things back up without losing progress. Built-in import tools pull information from W-2s, 1099s, and even prior-year TurboTax or Quicken returns, reducing the need to re-enter the same data year after year. And this Deluxe tier is geared toward situations that usually cause stress—mortgage interest, property taxes, investment income, stock sales, and retirement distributions—so the guidance is more detailed where mistakes are most common.

You can e-file up to five federal returns at no additional cost, which is handy if you’re filing for family members. One state return is included, though electronic state filing costs extra ($19.95) and isn’t available everywhere, something to factor into the total price. There’s also a searchable help library with thousands of articles, plus audit support that includes in-person representation if the IRS ever comes knocking. A newer AI Tax Assist tool offers real-time explanations during filing, which can be useful for quick clarity, though it’s not a substitute for professional advice in complex cases.

The H&R Block Deluxe + State 2025 tax software is on sale for $29.97 on StackSocial, down from $59.99. It helps homeowners, investors, and retirees file federal and state taxes with guided questions, import tools, and audit support, and is a practical middle ground between DIY software and hiring an accountant.
