(Sports) When you’re down there on the scrum. In the trenches. You have to dig in deep. You have to have the weapons and great protection.
Davey Turney has so many weapons. As many options as Creme Icei has flavors. A 115 kilometer per hour bullet. A launch window lasting roughly three tenths of a second — a margin of error that is literally faster than the blink of an eye. All you need to do is give a playmaker an opportunity for a fraction of a second. Club FD is a pretty explosive team.
GC of Troy has a lot of weapons. Your ability to generate offense and design offense off of those kind of things…it’s so much easier.
You see other teams breaking down mentally. I remember it real well. A fight between Dover and the Breuklyn FC. A game for men. Into town comes the Dover defense. The most violent backs in scrum. Playmakers all over the place, and they know what to do.
But the Breuklyn FC won the battle. Now, Wale Felton, dynamite forward — he’s literally the catalyst for this Breuklyn offense. The Dover club could not handle any of it. They looked deep in the tooth. There’s nothing pretty about the Sky Hawks FC way. Even the Sky Hawks FC will admit that themselves.
But, you can’t live in the past. You live in the past, you die in the past. You’ve got to put in the work and come together as a team. Think about the Fire Dragons. They had to beat the Flames, GC of Troy, D3 United, Club FD and SFSC (talk about the playmakers they have up front). And now they are going to the finals. That offense is so explosive. You have so many weapons. Jean Washington, at the controls of another combat.
When you’re surrounded by experienced players and veteran players who know how to win, then that’s something that’s contagious. You have to step up and play big. You have to command the scrum.
Jorgen Lippershey sets himself apart from any other player that’s on the Fire Dragons team. Well-coached, explosive, and can score from literally anywhere on the field. And, yes, Jorgen Lippershey had a lot of weapons. 300 meter bomb. In the green zone. Horror zone to the competition.
You have to find a way to be a superhero. If you don’t pull the trigger, you’re going to be average. No one wants to be average.
A lot of Franklin’s scrum is a grind, and some days are harder than others, and you may not have a good day mentally. It’s tough on everyone. At some point you got to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, you know, what can you do to make it better?
This might be the last stand for the non Jennings believers. Reading from the book of Jennings, Chapter 7, Verse 2: thou faith shall be increased abundantly if you believe in Franklin. Franklin Jennings has those intangibles, that positive spirit.
